TRANSFORMERS

A physical play with intimacy and gender-rolls in urban space.

How do gender roles and physical touch influence our behavior and ways of making contact in the urban public space?

Transformers is a dance performance made to travel through the streets of a city center in which youngsters playfully comment on the cliché of the group- and the associated boy/girl identity. When does not violence, but intimacy become threatening? How free are you (as a young person) to be who you want to be, within a group, in the city, in a country? And is it not that you are caught by definition if you try to free yourself from all clichés?
